Specifically, Tacom will:

  • Integrate operational excellence (the systematic management of health, safety, environment, reliability and efficiency) into every aspect of its business activities, and continually seek opportunities for improvement.
  • Fully comply with all health, safety and environment laws or regulations.
  • Establish adequate control over its activities with the aim of achieving incident-free operations, safe working conditions and protection of personnel and public from harm.
  • Seek opportunities to participate in the formulation of health, safety and environmental legislation or policy issues that may significantly impact our business.
  • Follow relevant standards, good engineering practices and principles of risk management to ensure the integrity, reliability and efficiency of Tacon facilities.
  • Insist on socially responsible leadership and demonstrate exemplary health, safety and environment performance.
  • Conserve company and natural resources by careful management of emissions and discharges and by curtailing unnecessary waste generation. This also includes the wise use of energy in operations.
  • Conduct hazard and risk assessments, as needed, to identify, characterise and safely manage any present or future potential hazards from company products and operations.
  • Ensure conformity with this policy through a comprehensive compliance programme including audits.
  • Assign adequate resources to implement this policy recognising the fact that operating safely is good practice.
  • Provide suitable and appropriate training for all Tacon employees and contract personnel to ensure they have the requisite competence to make safety their number one priority at work.
  • Communicate this policy widely to all personnel and contractors to ensure that they understand that working safely is a condition of employment, and that they are each responsible for their own safety and the safety of those around them.
  • Ensure that our joint ventures, affiliates, contractors and governments worldwide understand our commitment to this policy and support the associated expectations.
  • Tacon adopts a ‘zero tolerance’ approach to health, safety and environment (HSE) breaches and all breaches of HSE policies, procedures, rules and regulations are dealt with to the fullest practicable extent.
